Britton Victorious As O's Sweep Rays

The Orioles are 3-0 and in first place in the A.L. East after sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg over the weekend.

It was the first time the Birds had won three straight to start a season since 1997. Remember 1997? The O's were wire-to-wire divisional champs. It was also the last year the Birds had a winning record...

On Sunday, Zach Britton started, and won, his first Major League game. Britton allowed just one run on three hits and three walks over six innings while striking out six. The one run allowed was the first by an O's starter in 20 innings this season...

Jason Berken came on in relief and struck out the side, and the 'pen combined to allow just one hit over the final three frames...

Offensively, the Orioles banged out 11 hits, with J.J. Hardy and Mark Reynolds leading the pack...both went 2-for-4 with two RBIs each (their first as Orioles).

Jake Arrieta has the honor of starting the Home Opener against the Detroit Tigers on Monday...here's hoping he can keep this impressive starting streak going and get the Birds to 4-0. Let's Go O's!
